I
have seen a number of posts on the forum from people who are planning a first
time visit to Eureka, some of whom were slightly nervous of what to expect. As
I visited for the first time on Friday I thought I'd share my experience. I've
been to naturist beaches many times before but never to a club. After parking
my car I was slightly surprised when I was approaching reception to notice that
those people I could see on the veranda and in the grounds were clothed but I
soon realised this was due to the weather conditions! Unfortunately a chilly overcast
day with occasional drizzle so not the best of days to choose for a first visit. At
reception I mentioned I hadn't been to Eureka before and asked the receptionist
for directions around the facilities. Carol, who was the club masseuse for the
day, was there and offered to give me the tour. I'd already pre-booked a massage
for the afternoon with Carol (very enjoyable - highly recommended!) so it was
good to meet her beforehand. I initialled ventured for a walk in the grounds
and woods and did spend some time by the pool but in view of the weather decided
to concentrate on the spa facilities which I found to be excellent – a steam room
and a sauna, both very hot and probably seeming more so to me as I haven't been
in either for several years. Also the two hot tub/ Jacuzzis are very good – the
water suitably hot and the water jets very powerful. One tip for first timers
– towels are available to rent for the day but I took my own, not a good idea
as with frequent use of spa and showers it soon became very damp. Next time
I'll rent a club towel. I would have liked to have spent some time outdoors
in the sunshine, as to me that is an important part of naturism, but I had a thoroughly
enjoyable day nonetheless. There were more couples there than I had expected,
mostly arriving early afternoon it seemed, which I found a pleasant surprise as
I had a fear that on a weekday it might be all single men. I suppose the only
downside for me was that I went alone and, not being a naturally chatty person,
felt a bit out of things but I suppose that's inevitable at first. Will
I go again? Most definitely - hopefully during this coming week, probably on Thursday
due to work commitments earlier in the week. I shall hope for better weather by
then but will go anyway, and will certainly book another massage. David
