This cosy, cottage holiday home is located within the boundaries of the medieval town of Battle. It is situated in a position designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty believed to be within arrowshot of the battlefield where King Harold fell.

This is an ideal holiday location for walkers, cyclists, artists, nature lovers and those interested in History.

The house in its present state is believed to date from the 1700’s but evidence seems to indicate that the property was once two timber framed cottages of earlier origins.

Approached through the back door is a patio; leading down some steps is a small area of lawn. The rear of the cottage overlooks beautiful rolling countryside, from which can be seen Caldbec Hill. At the top of which is a windmill, built on the site where King Harold is said to have assembled his army before the battle of Hastings on the 14th October 1066.

The heavily beamed cottage that sleeps five (occasional seven on application for more details) has a double bedroom, a twin with en suite facilities, plus a single bedroom, all on the first floor. The second bathroom has a bath fitted with a shower and toilet and is situated on the ground floor. There is a large modern well-fitted kitchen and dinning area. The spacious fully carpeted lounge has a fireplace.

The cottage is in good decorative order throughout and comfortably furnished to a high standard. This is a no smoking cottage and you are requested to respect this request. By prior arrangement well behaved pets are welcome.
